BRONGLAIS : 24
hours - A life in the day of ... is an exhibition catalogue to an exhibition
of the same name, held to commend the staff and services of Bronglais hospital
in Aberystwyth. Following his hospitalisation after a motorcycle accident
in 1950, Ron has undergone many periods in hospital. He felt that an exhibition
of his photographs depicting the staff and environs of the hospital to be
a fitting tribute to the work of the National Health Service.
This accompanying catalogue has 32 B&W plates depicting the caring, human
side of the NHS- from surgeons, nurses, careworkers and ancilliary staff conducting
their routine duties of patient care.
Ron used both a formal and documentary style approach to his shots to give
a real insight into hospital life.
Foreword by Alistair Crawford, 1988.
